Berlin

It's tonight, and already started, but we couldn't do this post without giving it a mention. We're gutted we're not there, but if you're looking for something to do in Berlin tonight, this has to be your only destination.

Once the show has finished the fun's not over, as Adam and Dasha take you down to Tresor's legendary basement for what's bound to be an epic after party. Full event info can be found on the Facebook Event Page

We stay at Tresor from Friday night's shenanigans as Tuna Park puts on an altogether international affair of great interest to us here at SDD. Two SDD Podcasters in Singapore's Xhin and Argentina's Pfirter and past SDD guest, Germany's Milton Bradley.

The good times keep coming at Berghain (not that we expect anything less). Berghain sees a collection of some of todays most innovative artists supplying the soundtrack to your Saturday night / Sunday morning. This line up really lept of the page at us, so much so that we almost booked up some flights.

London

After recent hectic weeks rammed full of world class techno, London's has quietened down for the weekend, but you can always rely on their being something special on the horizon. This weekend's party is care of Thunder and features one of our favourite producers, Sven Weisemann.

Advanced tickets have sold out but there will be tickets available on the door, however they are limited as the venue is on the intimate side. But that should make for a great night. Full info on Resident Advisor

Leipzig
Echolot Electronic Series Chemnitz @ Weltecho (24th March 12)

Electronic Music by:
Moritz Von Oswald (Honest Jons)
C-Beams feat. Tina (Uncanny Valley)
radio121soundsystem feat K-fog und Felde (Chemnitz)

Visuals by:
Autolum (Chemnitz)

We finish back in Germany with another of our favourite producers. Moritz Von Oswald, of Basic Channel / Rhythm & Sound fame (along with Mark Ernestus), has pretty much influenced the majority of techno you hear today. It would be a very different place had that infamous mastering studio not been set up in the heart of Berlin.

He'll be bringing his dub techno sound to the city of Leipzig as part of the Echolot Electronic Series

There's no tickets so turn up and pay on the door. Full info on Resident Advisor

We Fear Silence Pres. Blueprint Records @ Cable, London (3rd March 12)

After a 5 month winter break Blueprint Records return to Cable for their first party of the year. Combined with We Fear Silence and with plenty of help from Colony, Blueprint was probably our favourite promotion of 2011. Even though they only put on 3 events, those events included Marcel Dettmann b2b with Ben Klock for a mighty 5 hours, live sets from Peter Van Hoesen (one of the best live sets we've ever heard) and O/V/R, as well as DJ sets from Surgeon, DVS1, Luke Slater, Sigha & Shifted and Mark Broom all alongside Blueprint boss James Ruskin.

There's no slacking off for 2012 either. Luke Slater is back, this time under his Planetary Assault Systems guise. After the huge success of his album on Ostgut Ton 'The Messenger', PAS is a name carrying some serious weight right now.

Regis is back too. After performing with Function, as Sandwell District, in 2010 and with Ruskin as O/V/R in 2011, it's time for Regis to put on a solo show. He's been in some form over the last year or so. Releases on Blackest Ever Black (both his own EP and remixes) plus remastered version of old Downwards classics, we're extremely excited to see what Regis produces. Saturday seems so far away.

Closing out the main room line up is Mark Broom and obviously James Ruskin. The 'Fear Ratio' pair will be doing what they do best, which generally means playing some ferocious techno over huge soundsystems. Expect very much more of the same on Saturday.

Room 2 will be occupied by Colony. Residents Tengui and MB & CB are joined by Blackest Ever Black duo, Raime. Like Regis, the end of 2011 saw a flurry of activity from the British pair. Releases, remixes and represses made for an inspiring build up to Christmas. Abstract sounds, almost to the point of it being post techno, has been the order of the day and it's these styles which will make a perfect accompaniment to the Blueprint sound in room 1.

Set Times

Room 1 - Blueprint Records
10pm - 11pm: Warm Up
11pm - 1am: Mark Br0om
1am - 3am: James Ruskin
3am - 4am: Regis (Live)
4am - 6am: Luke Slater (Planetary Assault Systems DJ Set)

Room 2 - Colony
10pm - 00:30am: Tengui
00:30am - 2:30am: Raime
2:30am - 4:30am: MB & CB

Tickets are still available on Resident Advisor, or if you're feeling really lucky then there's a chance to win some tickets on the We Fear Silence Website.

Weekend Clubbing Roundup: London, Stuttgart, Copenhagen, Geneva

Friday has finally arrived and not a moment too soon. We've put together a selection of the weekend's events around Europe to help you make the most of your two days off work. We take in London, Stuttgart, Copenhagen and Geneva, so if you happy to be in any of those cities, you're in for a treat

We begin at our local, fabric. Followers of the blog will be well aware of the Farringdon's establishments commitment to techno in 2012. Only 7 weekends into the year and we've already seen some of the best names in the business take to Room 2. This week, of course is no different.

Marcel Dettmann is back, joined by Ben Sims and Craig Richards. We expect Room 2 will certainly not be for the light hearted.

Tickets are now unavailable so make sure you turn up early if you've not got yours. Full event info is on Resident Advisor

Firstly, my apologies for the quality of the flyer, it was the best version I could find online, but there's no apologies needed for the quality of the line up. CLR begin their new residency at Lehmann Club in Stuttgrat.

Luke Slater, Tommy Four Seven and Monoloc all perform on the night. Full info is on Resident Advisor

Culture Box are a permanent fixture on our clubbing round ups of late. Friday sees the night of the label bosses, Scuba of Hotflush and Ulf Eriksson of Kontra Musik. We have huge respect for both labels so we expect there to be some seriouly good music on offer tonight.

Full info on Resident Advisor

Finally we land in Geneva, and more importantly Zoo @ Usine. Grounded Theory and Vault Series artist, Subjected, headlines with support from Sonic Groove's Northern Structures.

Full info, as always, is on Resident Advisor

Wednesday, 16 November 2011

Mix Of The Day: Luke Slater fabric mix

You have to of been living under a rock for the last year to not know that Luke Slater has a new Planetary Assault Systems album out entitled 'The Messenger'. We have our copy and it's superb. To celebrate the launch of the album, Luke Slater's label, Mote Evolver, is taking over fabric's Room 2, with support from Marcel Fengler and Shifted.

To wet your appetite for Saturday, Luke Slater has recorded a special promo mix for fabric's blog. You can download the mix from the following link

Tickets are still available on Resident Advisor for Saturdays event. You can get them through the RA Event Page.

We Fear Silence pres. Blueprint Records @ Cable (26th Mar 11)

If you're out and about in London on Saturday there's only 1 place for you to make plans for. The flyer pretty much tells you all you need to know. Some serious big techno heavyweights. For those of you who don't know too much about O/V/R, it's a live project from Ruskin and Sandwell Districts, Regis. Recently they performed live at Berghain and it went down an absolute stormer. Rumours have it that the whole Blueprint Klubnacht went on till 11pm Sunday!

The room 2 line up is also a strong one. Really excited to see how the ambient set from Sigha and Shifted goes down. I'm expecting it to be special.

Anyway there's still tickets available on Resident Advisor for a more than reasonable £10 (+bf) or you can pay on the door but it will cost you a few more quid.
