Sandwell District - Falling The Same Way (Free Download)

After yesterdays performance on Dommune, Sandwell District are feeling most generous and what better way to express that generosity than with a free wav file for you to download. The Black Dog were kind enough to put it up on Soundcloud for us (seeing as though Sandwell District have practically no online presence what so ever). Download it by clicking the little down arrow on the right hand side of the player.

Free download of unreleased Stefan Linzatti track, remixed by Par Grindvik

Swedish techno legend, Par Grindvik, produced a remix of Stefan Linzatti's 'The Thruth' which never saw the light of day on a release so rather than allowing it to go unheard by the masses, he's decided to allow us all to download it for free.

Sigha - Early Morning Lights (Marcel Dettmann Remix) [OCS001]

Sigha is a name I've been following for a while now. A string of releases on Scuba's HotFlush label has seen him cement his place as one of the rising stars in techno and dub. He's now setup his own label 'Ourcirculasound' and for his first release he's enlisted the considerable talents of Berghain's very own, Marcel Dettmann.

Inspired By The Creative Freedom found In Berlin, and fused with a Classic UK aesthetic, Sigha’s 'Our Circula Sound’ project represents his growing immersion in the more spacious and abstract realms of Techno. Dark, introspective and hypnotic, the labels output will mirror the sound that Sigha has become know for, with his obsession for detail clear through out. The first release sets the standard for what is to follow; Sigha’s own 'Early Morning Lights’ has been given a stella remix from Marcel Dettmann. Its clattering hats and constant sub throb call to mind Shackletons Skull Disco releases, while its pulsing raw kicks and dry percussion bear all the hall marks of Dettman’s regular output. Over The Edge sits on the B-side and sees Sigha in full-swing. A deep subby kick drives the track forward, while dark dubbed out soundscapes drift hazyly in and out of focus
Support and love from (among others), Peter Van Hoessen, Brendon Moeller, Luke Slater, Scuba/SCB, Jonas Koop, Edit Select, Cio D'ior, Tommy Four Seven, Pfirter, John Tejada, Kevin Goreman, Obtane, Marcel Dettmann and many many more

Check out the samples below

The release will be hitting stores very soon so make sure you get yourselves a copy. And here's some official links for you

Schermate - Schermate 009

Visionary underground dance music, Schermate are Laric & Stefano Greppi. The group was founded in early 2009
after Stefano Greppi & Laric (Alessandro Larice) met in record stores where Stefano worked.
Schermate Recordings Label founded in early 2009 by Schermate that prints only their own productions on limited edition coloured vinyls.

The first 8 releases have found their ways into the hands of Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Boris, Raresh, Traversable Wormhole and many more big names across the world. The releases have covered a mixture of groovy tech house right through to extremely dark techno. These boys put some serious amounts of detailing on their productions and it's really apparent when you listen to their work. Real nice guys as well as I found out when I met up with them in London last month.

For the 9th release in their series they've produced something a little bit special. On the A side is a track called 'Brettenshuffle' but it's the B side which is really interesting. The whole side is made up of 32 'Locked Grooves'. These are essentially loops that will keep playing and playing and playing until you tell them to stop, or move on to the next loop.

Stefano and Laric are definitely ones to look out for in the future. More info can be found on them at their Myspace page

Do Not Resist The Beat - Point of No Return

Do Not Resist The Beat has easily been one of my favourite labels for the last 2 years. Now into their 5th release and there's no let up in quality.

Hardwax describe it as "Just deadly techno cuts - Highly recommended." I don't think i could put it any better myself.

Check out samples of the tracks here

It's now available on vinyl at Hardwax. You can order your copy there.

Marcel Fengler - Thwack [Mote Evolver]

Here's the new release from the excellent Marcel Fengler. I basically want his life. Resident @ Berghain, works at Hardwax, DJs around the world and makes beautiful techno (and occasional house). This time he's took a step away from releasing on his usual label, Ostgut Ton, and instead has crafted some beats for one of London's best Techno Label's, Mote Evolver.

Free Ellen Allien Track - Sun The Rain

Ellen Allien - Sun The Rain

taken from the album “Dust” (BPC217)

Ellen Allien, owner of the BPitch Control label and Fairy Queen of Berlin’s more delicately woven rave music, has been tinkering with the sound of the city for over a decade now. What has remained from all these years – packed with great releases, highly original remixes and exploratory mix CDs – are her five monolithic albums, each the condensed result of a completely different creative phase – made to stand the test of time. Indeed, looking back, each of them in its own right can be seen as marking a piece of techno history. You just have to think back to the feeling of astonishment upon hearing Stadtkind for the first time. Or being spellbound by Berlinette. Or being pulverised by the ARP in Thrills. And let’s not forget the superb collaboration with Apparat which resulted in Orchestra of Bubbles, perhaps the most beautiful indietronic gem to be produced in recent years. Now it already seems an eternity since Ellen Allien last remodelled her own sound with the sharp-edged diamond Sool in 2008 – a release which opened the gates to a far-off parallel world where minimalist artefacts float through the room with a cool elegance and distanced allure. Yet, just like each of Ellen’s previous albums, this was followed by a cut. A metamorphosis. A reincarnation. With her new album, Dust, Ellen removes the sense of remoteness entirely. A warm immediacy takes centre stage in place of distanced artistic abstraction. As such, what is perhaps Ellen’s most personal album takes the form of a complete spectrum of her creative output to date, a cross-section in time which also looks ahead to previously untrodden paths… The world according to Ellen.

Female - Blood Tide (Regis Mix) [Sandwell District] Free Download

Direct Download (Right Click, Save As)

Ahead of Sandwell Districts fabric performance this Saturday, they've teamed up with Clash Music to release some music from one of their foremost producers, Female, with a remix by Regis.

It's dark and moody, with plenty of atmospherics. Synth patterns come and go throughout only adding to the tension, complimented with great percussion programming and a series of clicks and dial tone type sounds to increase the depth of the track. Can't wait to hear it on the monstrous sound system in fabric's room 2.

You can get tickets to Saturday's fabric event from the Resident Advisor Event Page. Line up also includes Cobblestone Jazz (Live), Thomas Brinkman (Live) and Craig Richards in room 1, Terry Francis and Luke Slater joining Function & Regis in room 2 and an Echocord Records Showcase with Kenneth Christiansen, Brendon Moeller (Live) (If he managed to get his flight out of JFK last night, waiting for word back on Twitter), Substance (Live) and Reseo. It's going to be a big night!

Blur 'Fools Day' - Free Download

Ok so it's not dance music related but i feel still worth a mention. Blur are one of my favourite bands ever. I saw them live in Hyde Park last year and it was a hell of an evening.

The track 'Fools Day' was recorded especially for Record Store day and all 1000 limited edition 7" copies sold out across UK record stores. However Blur's manager, Chris Morrison, thought it was import for the song to be made available to fans legally, to stop fans having to turn to illegal download and file sharing sites. So to combat this, Blur have decided to release it as a free download.

Just follow this link to Blur's website, fill in your details and the track is all yours

Sigha - Reprise Mix (Apr 10) + New Tracks

Forged in the fires of Techno's industrial past, and rising from the flames phoenix, as if to claim his place in the pantheon,Sigha is a different kind of DJ and Producer.

Releases on the fresh-to death Hotflush (Rawww EP) and alongside Spherix on Immerse (Seperation), have got techno and dubstep heads equally excited. With support from the infamous Mary Anne Hobbs and the mighty Marcel Dettmann, there is no stopping Sigha…

Direct Download Link (Right Click Save As)

Not only that but he's uploaded some new tracks to his Soundcloud Page including a new remix by Marcel Dettmann no less.

You can follow all of Sigha's forthcoming releases and updates by adding him on Myspace or following him on Twitter

Forward Strategy Group - Combat Code EP [Perc Trax]

Here's the first samples of the new Perc Trax release by Forward Strategy Group with a remix from Donor & Truss.

3 quality no nonsense techno tracks as we've come to expect from PT. Code #01 features relentless highs with a thumping kick underneath. Code #02 is more dubby than #o1 and the Donor & Truss remix is slightly lighter with a haunting stab circling it's way throughout the track.

But don't take my word for it, check out the samples here

Available to buy on vinyl from Juno.co.uk

For more info on forthcoming releases add them up on the Perc Trax Myspace or follow them on Twitter

Ikonika releases free track 'Politriks'

Hyperdub's Ikonika, who was once described by the Guardian as "a rare female face in the male dominated world of dubstep" as decided to send out a track for the love rather than capital gain. And here it is.

At just short of 5 mins, this glitchy track with its frantic hi hats and 8 bit sounds is something i would of gladly paid for. (It's a direct link so right click, save as)

Also her debut album "Contact, Love, Want, Have" is also available now in all good record stores, and probably some bad ones too!

Fiedel & Erik Errorsmith - Nous Sommes MMM (MMM)

Anyone that caught Ricardo Villalobos's set at Timewarp 2 weekends ago would undoubtedly remember this tune. It tore the place apart. Excellent track with an old skool acid rave feel to it. Gonna be a big bomb for 2010.

Moderat - The Unofficial Remix Pack

Here's a new release from the brilliant Moderat (Modeselektor + Apparat). They've already had the official release of this but now it's time for the unofficial remix pack to hit our eardrums. Remixes of 'Rusty Nails' come from Shackleton and T++ while Headhunter serves up a version of 'A New Error'.

The Shackleton remix is an absolutely epic. Dark yet uplifting, earthy and euphoric. It completely blows the whole release away. The Headhunter and T++ tracks would be headliner status on any release had it not been from the Bristolians monumental efforts.
