There's plenty of events going on around the techno world this weekend. Here's our pick of them

London

On Friday, Coma continue their London Techno Champions series at the Horse & Groom with a London Debut for Avian artist Ventress and support from Doubleffe and Setaoc Mass.

There's a £3 concessions guestlist running for the party. Send your names to comaevents@gmail.com before 5pm tomorrow afternoon to get on it.

Sunday techno returns to London as Void are throwing a free party residents special. A collection of upcoming London based producers and DJs will be displaying just how bright the future is for London techno.

It's free so if you're in the area (or even if you're not) get yourselves down to Cafe 1001

Birmingham

Birmingham has a rich history of techno and on Saturday the Gibb Street Warehouse intend to keep that going. Function, who is of course part of the legendary techno collective, Sandwell District (named after an area of Birmingham) takes top billing supported by Birmingham's own first lady of techno, Rebekah.

Tickets for the event can be purchased on the Ticket Sellers Website

It's a Stockholm LTD showcase in Tresor on Friday night at Pär Grindvik and Staffan Linzatti showcase their considerable skills with Drumcode's Joel Mull completing the Swedish connection.

Full event details can be found on Resident Advisor

Copenhagen

Whenever we do these roundup posts, somewhere along the line there's always a mention for our friends at Culture Box and more often than not there's a party in there which includes Luke Slater, so when the two of them came together for one event, it's was always going to find it's place on the post.

Support comes from local boys and Sonic Groove act, Northern Structures, and Circuit Club's Morten Kamper with Finn Of Tomland in the Cocktail Box. Full event info on Facebook.

Athens

The Greek economy may be in a precarious position at present, but the techno scene is alive and well as Time To Express boss, Peter Van Hoesen, heads to the capital to join Slydex, HRISL and Poen at the Astron Bar.

Doors open at 8pm and stay open until 7am and best of all, it's free!

Los Angeles

Droid Behaviour head to LA to host a CLR Showcase which includes Chris Liebing, Drumcell, Truncate and Dean Paul.

Tickets are still available on Resident Advisor

Buenos Aires

The last stop on our roundup takes us to Buenos Aires and the home town of our last SDD Podcast contributor Pfirter. For Wormhole .02 @ Cocoliche, Juan Pablo is joined by another home town boy, Jonas Kopp.

VOID pres Ben Klock & Tommy Four Seven @ Cafe 1001 (6th May 12)

It's felt like almost forever since London party throwers, VOID, smashed up Public Life, with a bit of help from Perc and Truss, last September. Come next Sunday though, it will of been well worth the wait.

For the headliners VOID look towards Berlin two bring in two techno heavyweights. One born and bred in the city, the other a relocated London boy coming home for the weekend.

There's not much to say about Ben Klock and Tommy Four Seven that hasn't been said already. Both part of huge techno brands (probably two of the most recognisable to any techno fan) Klock with Ostgut and T47 with CLR. They'll be bringing their world renowned techno sounds to East London, and more importantly to the amazing backroom space at Cafe 1001 for this monster party. To show you just how monster this is, Ben Klock will be performing his longest ever set in the capital to close out the festivities!

The rest of the line up features a plethora of local London talent. Room 1 support comes from Kontrol Room (check out their latest promo video), Jay Clarke and Randolph. Our boss, XI, heads up the front room and will be kicking of proceedings with a very special dub techno set.

Get yourselves over to the Resident Advisor Event Page where you can buy your tickets and check out all the event info, including details of the of the pre party. More info on Void can be found on their Facebook Fan Page. The same applies for Ben Klock and Tommy Four Seven

Void pres Perc & Truss @ Public Life (10th Sep 11)

Void @ Public Life - Saturday 10th Sep 11 (1pm - 1am)

Perc (Perc Trax / CLR / Kompakt)
Maker & Meyer (Ultraplay / Mighty Rumble Recs)
Chris Page (Affin Recs / Kai Zen)
Randolph (Void)
Jay Clarke (The Basement)
David Chung (Void)
Adam Gill (East Project)

This Saturday is a very exciting moment for me, for a couple of reasons. Firstly I get to be part of the Void Perc Trax Special, which on any other day would be more than enough, but it's Perc's return to our favourite Victorian toilet, Public Life, for his first time in over 2 years, which is really wetting my whistle. Fans of Lost Souls will remember the amazing days we had down there, with the big man, and will understand why I'm so excited that he's back.

Void is a London promotion that is focusing on London's very best techno. It's part of the new collection of promotions that are helping to rebuild the City's flagging techno scene. All the acts are based in the Capital and represent the outstanding music, DJs and Producers that London has to offer.

The headliner, Perc, needs no introduction. Head of one of the worlds best Techno labels, Perc Trax, he's released on a whole host of labels including CLR, Ovum, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Drumcode and a few more besides. Fresh from the release of his long awaited debut album, 'Wicker & Steel', he's in fine form, and back in the bog, we know it's going to be off the hook.

Joining Perc is one of his labels hottest prospects, Truss. On his own, or with his production partner, Donor, Truss has been gathering fans at every turn. Be it as a producer (releasing on Perc Trax, Stroboscopic Artefacts and more), as a DJ or as a live act. Check out the Donor / Truss - CLR Podcast 130 that went out last month, to see just what he's about.

The rest of the line up includes a selection of some of London's best up and coming techno talents. Acts from Affin Records, Ultraplay and Kai Zen alongside the Void residents and of course myself!

For the full details of the party check out the event pages on either Facebook or Resident Advisor. We can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday! Summer's gone and it's time to head back into the basement!
