Void pres Perc & Truss @ Public Life (10th Sep 11)

Void @ Public Life - Saturday 10th Sep 11 (1pm - 1am)

Perc (Perc Trax / CLR / Kompakt)
Maker & Meyer (Ultraplay / Mighty Rumble Recs)
Chris Page (Affin Recs / Kai Zen)
Randolph (Void)
Jay Clarke (The Basement)
David Chung (Void)
Adam Gill (East Project)

This Saturday is a very exciting moment for me, for a couple of reasons. Firstly I get to be part of the Void Perc Trax Special, which on any other day would be more than enough, but it's Perc's return to our favourite Victorian toilet, Public Life, for his first time in over 2 years, which is really wetting my whistle. Fans of Lost Souls will remember the amazing days we had down there, with the big man, and will understand why I'm so excited that he's back.

Void is a London promotion that is focusing on London's very best techno. It's part of the new collection of promotions that are helping to rebuild the City's flagging techno scene. All the acts are based in the Capital and represent the outstanding music, DJs and Producers that London has to offer.

The headliner, Perc, needs no introduction. Head of one of the worlds best Techno labels, Perc Trax, he's released on a whole host of labels including CLR, Ovum, Stroboscopic Artefacts, Drumcode and a few more besides. Fresh from the release of his long awaited debut album, 'Wicker & Steel', he's in fine form, and back in the bog, we know it's going to be off the hook.

Joining Perc is one of his labels hottest prospects, Truss. On his own, or with his production partner, Donor, Truss has been gathering fans at every turn. Be it as a producer (releasing on Perc Trax, Stroboscopic Artefacts and more), as a DJ or as a live act. Check out the Donor / Truss - CLR Podcast 130 that went out last month, to see just what he's about.

The rest of the line up includes a selection of some of London's best up and coming techno talents. Acts from Affin Records, Ultraplay and Kai Zen alongside the Void residents and of course myself!

For the full details of the party check out the event pages on either Facebook or Resident Advisor. We can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday! Summer's gone and it's time to head back into the basement!

Slash Dot Dash Podcast 006: Kenneth Christiansen

On Friday 8th July we invited Echocord Records boss, Kenneth Christiansen, to London for a special 3 hour set in our favourite former Victorian toilet, Public Life. He duly obliged and arrived with a box full of records and a smile on his face. We had our recorder handy and these are the results!

An hours snippet from the set will be added to our iTunes podcast later on this week but for the full 2 hours and 50 mins you want the soundcloud link above.

Slash Dot Dash pres. Kenneth Christiansen (Echocord / Pattern Repeat) @ Public Life (8th July 11)

As the days get longer and the air gets warmer time seems to be flying along. We've had Kenneth Christiansen booked up for so long it's hard to believe we're just over a month away!

Kenneth Christiansen will be performing a special 3 hour set for us where he'll be showcasing the signature dub techno sound which has made his labels
Echocord and Echocord Colour so successful over the last 9 years.

A true music pioneer, DJ, Producer (with
Resoe as Pattern Repeat), record shop owner, label boss, Kenneth has done it all, even running his own club, Culture Box, in the heart of his home town Copenhagen. If you don't know about it, check the line ups they pull out the bag every single week!

Speaking to Kenneth a few weeks ago he told us how playing at huge venues like Berghain are incredible experiences but he prefers smaller intimate venues, to really give that up close and personal feel to a night. So going by that, Public Life should be absolutely perfect!

Joining Kenneth on the night will be Slash Dot Dash front man, XI, and Andy Bone from Lost Souls fame. These boys will bubbling up nicely in time for Kenneth to hit the turntables.

However due to the smallness of our beloved toilet, we advise you to purchase a ticket to guarantee yourself entry. £5 tickets are moving on Resident Advisor now and are strictly limited. We are running a guestlist for the same price but once we're full, we're full. Only ticket holders have priority.

Head over to
Resident Advisor to get your tickets and reserve your spot on the dancefloor. Otherwise you can e-mail your names to guestlist@slashdotdash.biz

Mark Broom - Lost Souls @ Public Life Videos (8th May 10)

Saturday night saw another awesome Lost Souls party down at Public Life. After the massive success of our February Party with UK Techno legend, James Ruskin, we thought we'd keep that trend going by enlisting the services of another UK Techno legend in the shape of Mark Broom.

Mr Broom was on fine form and had the toilet rammed until the very last beats. Here's some videos for those of you that missed it.

Also feel free to check out my Youtube Channel to see the rest of my videos of various djs / live acts from various events / festivals in all sorts of European cities

Lost Souls Pres Mark Broom @ Public Life (8th May 10)

Lost Souls, Public Life and Techno are 3 institutions that go together very very well. As our last party, with James Ruskin, proved in February. We rammed the bog full of techno lovers to witness Ruskin's immense headline set, and Saturday evening we're planning to do it all over again.

This time we're bringing in another UK techno giant, Mark Broom. Over the years he's steadily built up a reputation for solid productions and outstanding dj sets which have seen him release on some of techno's most respected labels and played to some of the best dancefloors across the globe.

Alongside Mr Broom will be a selection of Lost Souls finest residents, providing you with some quality b2b sets. Kicking off the party will be Antony Difrancesco and Lee Hume serving up some deep groovy vibes before Chris Stanford and myself take things up a notch in preparation for Broom to hit the famous Public Life decks!
