Mikkel Metal - All Over / Ball Under EP [Echocord Colour]

Mikkel Metal returns to Echocord's sister label, Echocord Colour, for his second release on the sublabel. He's been with the label since day one and all it's 10 years since. Many of his releases, on both labels, would feature in many a list of scene defining dub techno music. The Marcel Dettmann remix of his 'Kenton EP' is still one of our favourite Echocord tracks to date.

Metal is in his usual fine form with this two tracker. 'All Over' oozes dubby grooves where as 'Ball Under' sees Mikkel harp back to raw warehouse sounds to light up any peak time dance floor. Check out the samples below

It's available to buy now at the usual spots including Phonica, Decks.de and Juno.co.uk and plenty more besides. All the latest info on Mikkel Metal can be found on his Facebook Fan Page and the same applies for Echocord with their Facebook Page. Or failing that there's always the Echocord Website

Skudge - First Observation EP [Echocord Colour 016]

The First Observation EP is the first release on our Echocord Colour by the Swedish production duo, Skudge. The release features two new tracks, 'Surplus' and 'Void' and a remix of 'Void' by Conforce.

Both tracks showcase that great dub techno style that Echocord is so famous for, where as the Conforce mix takes things into a more stripped down direction with heavy sub bass mixed in with distorted stabs and dreamy synth lines. Check out the tracks below. Conforce have disabled the embedded code on soundcloud so just on the link below to be taken to their page.

The EP is out now in all the best record stores so go get one. More info on Skudge can be found on their Facebook Fan Page. There you can for all the details of their upcoming releases and future appearances

Mikkel Metal / Resoe - The Copenhagen Split EP [Echocord Colour 15]

New release time for one of our favourite Dub Techno labels, Echocord Colour. Now on to their 15th release after previous works from Sebastian San, Mike Dehnert, Luke Hess, Brendon Moeller, Kenneth Christiansen with Resoe as Pattern Repeat, and featured remixes from Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock and Robag Wruhme.

Release 15 combines two of the labels mainstays Mikkel Metal and Resoe on the aptly title 'Copenhagen EP'. Resoe's 'Redlightsareflashin' is more dancefloor orientated than his recent Album. Mikkel Metal's 'Fubre' is more peak time but still retains his usual deep dub style.

The EP is expected to drop at the end of this month / start of June. As ever will be available in all the usual spots. More info on Mikkel Metal can be found on his Facebook Fan Page and for Resoe, check out his Website

Luke Hess - Michigan Central Station EP [Echocord Colour]

Next up on the excellent Echocord Colour, off shoot label from Echocord, is the stunning 'Michigan Central Station EP' by Luke Hess. The label's been in fine form over the last 2 years or so. With releases from Brendon Moeller, Sebastian San, Deadbeat, Mikkel Metal and Pattern Repeat to name a few. This latest offering from Hess is his second outing on Echocord Colour, his first being a project with Marko Fuerstenburg (another great dub techno artist. Check out his recent 'Counter Mode EP' on Artless Records).

The EP is a homage to Michigan Central Station in Detroit. Once a glorious piece of engineering, now left in ruins, showing a glimpse over previous flourishing times in the City. The A Side sees Hess display dreamy melodies with his signature dub delayed patterns underneath to deliver a beautiful uplifting composition. Side B is darker. It's flittering percusion carries the track along over a deep bassline. Check out the samples below.
