Mix Of The Day: Ben Sims fabric Mini Mix

On Saturday UK Techno poineer, Ben Sims, returns to fabric's room 2 for another assault on the eardrums. And the man who's spent most of the last 12 months in the studio has put together a special mix for the fabric blog to display the fruits of his efforts. It doesn't get much newer than this either. Every track on the mix is either scheduled for release soon (on his own Hardgroove and Theory labels as well as Drumcode) or they're unsigned. So unless you've caught Ben play lately (or someone he might of given them too) the mix will consist of 40 mins of music you've never heard before.

There's also an interview to go along with the mix. That can be found on the fabric blog. You can download of stream the mix from the soundcloud player below.

Machine @ Corsica Studios (30th Mar 12)

Machine seem to of settled in a new home. After a spell on the road, taking in the Islington Metal Works and East Village, venue difficulties last year steered them towards Corsica Studios and a collaboration with Plex & Colony in October. December saw their first solo event at the Elephant and Castle venue as they hosted Kevin Saunderson and Rolando.

Friday is their first party of the year and Ben Sims and Kirk Degiorgio continue their quest to feature nothing but brand new music to make sure the party stays right on the cutting edge of forward thinking techno. Looking back to look forward, they're bringing in one of the true techno originators, Robert Hood. As one of the founder members of Underground Resistance and the boss of M-Plant Records, few have had as much influence on the techno we hear today as Hood.

Room 2 sees Retro-vert counter balance the future, with the past. Surface Records boss, Nick Dunton, heads it up and is joined by Sims and Paul Mac's moniker, Essex Rascals, and Kirk Degiorgio throws an alternative set into the mix.

Tickets are available on Resident Advisor. More information on Machine can be found on their Website. To find out what else Robert Hood is got in the pipeline, check out his Facebook Fan Page

Weekend Clubbing Roundup: London, Stuttgart, Copenhagen, Geneva

Friday has finally arrived and not a moment too soon. We've put together a selection of the weekend's events around Europe to help you make the most of your two days off work. We take in London, Stuttgart, Copenhagen and Geneva, so if you happy to be in any of those cities, you're in for a treat

We begin at our local, fabric. Followers of the blog will be well aware of the Farringdon's establishments commitment to techno in 2012. Only 7 weekends into the year and we've already seen some of the best names in the business take to Room 2. This week, of course is no different.

Marcel Dettmann is back, joined by Ben Sims and Craig Richards. We expect Room 2 will certainly not be for the light hearted.

Tickets are now unavailable so make sure you turn up early if you've not got yours. Full event info is on Resident Advisor

Firstly, my apologies for the quality of the flyer, it was the best version I could find online, but there's no apologies needed for the quality of the line up. CLR begin their new residency at Lehmann Club in Stuttgrat.

Luke Slater, Tommy Four Seven and Monoloc all perform on the night. Full info is on Resident Advisor

Culture Box are a permanent fixture on our clubbing round ups of late. Friday sees the night of the label bosses, Scuba of Hotflush and Ulf Eriksson of Kontra Musik. We have huge respect for both labels so we expect there to be some seriouly good music on offer tonight.

Full info on Resident Advisor

Finally we land in Geneva, and more importantly Zoo @ Usine. Grounded Theory and Vault Series artist, Subjected, headlines with support from Sonic Groove's Northern Structures.

Full info, as always, is on Resident Advisor
