LWE & Closer pres Electric Deluxe @ Electric Brixton (28th Apr 12)

When London Warehouse Events say they're putting on a techno event, it usually means it's going to be one of the biggest parties the capital has to offer, and unsurprisingly, they've gone and it again. After bringing you a number of Drumcode parties and a couple of CLR events, they look to another techno super brand, Speedy J's Electric Deluxe.

The event is the second stage of three event mini euro tour, all taking place this weekend. Tonight they begin in Lausanne, Switzerland, as Speedy J is joined by Phil Kieran and Thierry Collado, and on Sunday they finish in Amsterdam with Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Hans Bouffmyhre and Giorgio Gigli.

But the one we're focusing on now is Saturday's London event. Heading down south to the newly refurbished Electric Brixton will be an army of techno fans expecting the witness some of the best techno around. Speedy J will be joined by Marcel Dettmann, Sandwell District and Marcel Fengler, whilst Room 2 is hosted by our friends at EarToGround, with Tom Dicicco leading the charge.

There's a couple of options available to you when it comes to your entry free. There's still some discount tickets left from EarToGround priced at £18 (+ bf) which you can grab from Resident Advisor. Or you can e-mail your names to jadedsundays@hotmail.com to get on their £10 concessions list. However entry is not guaranteed with guestlist, only with the tickets. It's your call but I expect there's going to be a big old queue!

More info on the Electric Deluxe mini tour can be found on their website where you can find out about everything else EDX related. There's details of their releases, podcast series, upcoming events and plenty more.

EarToGround pres Xhin Album Launch, Stroboscopic Artefacts and Fachwerk Records @ Corsica Studios (12th Nov 11)

Seven months ago Stroboscopic Artefacts descended on London's Corsica Studios to showcase their label to the capital for the very first time. If you was there, then like us, you'll hold very fond memories of that night. That was April but now we're in November and our friends over at EarToGround felt it was time London got exposed to the collective again.

The party coincides with the launch of Xhin's superb 'Sword' album so of course the man from Singapore is the deserved headliner and we know he's going to mark the occasion with something extra special. He'll be expertly backed up by SA artists Lucy, Pfirter (making his London debut), Inigo Kennedy with visuals from Oblivious Artefacts.

Room 2 isn't looking too bad either. After already playing host to Mike Dehnert, ETG are now bringing over the other two members of Fachwerk Records, Roman Lindau and Sascha Rydell for an extended b2b set. Additional support comes from ETG boss Gareth Wild and one half of the team behind the first release on ETG's label, Dax J.

Tickets are still available on Resident Advisor. Get them on the Event Page, you can also find the rest of the info there too. And of course once it hits 6am the party will be far from over because they'll all be heading to Cable for the after party and help Jaded celebrate turning 7. Expect some big names and huge surprises. All the details and tickets are on the Jaded Resident Advisor page

Weekend Picks - EarToGround label launch, Warm and Life Is Two

There's a couple of notable events coming up this weekend. Two in London and one on the sunny south coast in Brighton. Up first is the EarToGround label launch party at Corsica Studios. They've enlisted the services of the excellent Inigo Kennedy and Shifted who will be supported by a host of residents and guests all in the name of celebrating their first release. Tickets are available through Resident Advisor

Still in London, but this our second pick is something a little bit different. Warm are throwing an intimate party at Plastic People, the last before they close for a month to refurbish the venue, and they've pulled out all the stops.

As one half of legendary dub techno label, Rhythm & Sound, one half of Basic Channel, the founder of Berlin's most famous record store, Hardwax, Mark Ernestus certainly has some credentials that are worth sitting up and paying attention two. Mark will be joined for Paul St Hillier aka Tikiman who will be providing guest vocals throughout the night. There's also an unnamed special guest who I expect will be quite special indeed. Tickets are still available from Resident Advisor

Finally, it's the 2nd Birthday of Brighton venue, Life. They're throwing two days of parties, starting tonight, with great lines ups across both nights, although it's Saturday that really grabs us. A 12 hour party, 3 hours from Marcel Dettmann, 2 from Appleblim and plenty more besides. And of course, tickets can be found on Resident Advisor

EarToGround pres Mike Dehnert & Shifted @ East Village (20th May 11)

Our pick of this weeks London events is a pretty easy one. Our friends at EarToGround have lined up another Friday night basement session at East Village. You'll remember the last one they put on, just before Xmas, when James Ruskin tore the place apart in the way he knows best.

Tonight's event has an equally impressive line up. Fachwerk Records boss, Mike Dehnert, is flying at the moment. His label is gathering more and more fans with every release, his album has just dropped on Delsin Records to critical acclaim and to top it all off he's getting booked all over Europe at great venues like Tresor, Culture Box, Trouw and the legendary Berghain. It's been years since we saw him play in the Lost Souls room at Rabid festival and we're highly excited to see what he comes up with this time.

The next guest is shrouded in mystery. Shifted has very much appeared from nowhere and with no visible trail behind them. Releases on Mote Evolver, their own Avian label, Syndrome Z and a remix of Furesshu of Project Squared Records has captured the eye of the techno community. We're expecting big things from them tonight!

ETG frontman, Gareth Wild, will lead the support line and he's joined by Anderson and Kieran James to kick the night off in style. Tickets are still available for tonight's event through Resident Advisor, otherwise you can pay on the door but it will be slightly more.

Mike Dehnert Interview

Whether it's as a globe trotting DJ, chart topping producer or ground breaking label boss, Mike Dehnert is in serious demand right now. His latest album 'Framework' has been getting rave reviews all over the world.

Ahead of his performance at EarToGround next Friday, they caught up with him for a chat...

Where the in world are you right now?

At this moment I stay in Berlin

What have you been up to recently?

I had a lot to do with my Album on Delsin rec.and a lot of Gigs like very nice parties and a lot of traveling (transfer)

You like to push the audio envelope. Some of your tracks sound near to distortion but fused with the other elements always sound amazing especially on the dance floor. Can you tell us about your sound and approach to making music?

At first for me it’s not important how do you make music like digital or analog so I produce completely analog.

I like it to make soundexperiments like be creative with the limits (not distortion!:-)).
I will take the Techno sound in the next higher level(for me).

But everytime with focus on the Dance floor with creating feelings (emotions, erotism) with sounds ,Tracks.

I try to establish a emotion in tracks so It’s very interesting in to create (for example)a Techno track with erotism and than I test it in My DJ-Set’s on the dance Floor.

So I can also say that I don’t play tracks in my DJ set’ I play emotions or I mix emotions on the dance floor.

What do we have to look forward to from you and Fachwerk?

….some new releases are ready like on clone

Mike Dehnert - Oblique

and I have a lot of new releases planned like for my next “deeply rooted house” and echocord color, again, MD2 part 4…………

I also found a new Label calling “Colombage” like again a small division of Fachwerk with more focus on Tech-House music like a other nice platform for sound dance floor experiments. The first release is calling MIJU EP , the 12″ is coming in two weeks.

Reno Wurzbacher & Mike Dehnert - Miju EP

After the actual Fachwerk FW018 release from Sascha Rydell comes Roman Lindau again with a realy cool 2 tracker release so I think Roman’s 12″ FW019 comes in 3-4 Weeks and than I will do a EP….

I have also a lot of remix and release requests what I have to cancel becouse I also have to spent a lot of my times for managing my Labels so I will see………..

Any message for your fans in London?

so let’Z Rooockkkkkkkkkk

Mike Dehnert will be playing in London on the 20th May alongside Shifted at the next EarToGround Party @ East Village. Tickets are on sale through Resident Advisor now

Stroboscopic Artefacts Showcase @ Corsica Studios (2nd Apr 11)

If you've been paying attention to the blog over the last couple of weeks you'll of definitely noticed a theme of late. We've been featuring plenty of posts about Stroboscopic Artefacts artists, such as new releases from label boss, Lucy, and mixes from Xhin and Truss, and it's all been building up to this weekend.

Stroboscopic Artefacts has exploded onto the underground techno scene in the most emphatic way. Already they've racked up label showcases at Berghain and in New York and now it's time for them to bring their signature sound to London.

The line up is a little different from the flyer. Unfortunately due to visa issues, Jonas Kopp can no longer make the event, but it's not all bad. Added to the line up is the superb Dadub, performing a live set alongside Lucy, Xhin and Truss.

Both Slash Dot Dash residents, XI and Chris Stanford, will be performing. With the room 1 change around, XI has been moved into the main room to kick things of with his signature dub techno sound that you'll be extremely familiar with from the last 3 SDD parties.

And as if room 1 wasn't big enough for you, room 2, hosted by EarToGround, have the head of Sleaze Records, Hans Bouffmyhre, headlining their room with a selection of London's finest in support.

We still have discounted £5 tickets available so if you've not got yours yet, drop us an e-mail to info@slashdotdash.biz to get yours. But don't hang around, they won't be about for long. And if you miss them then it's £20 on the door!

There will be plenty of Stroboscopic Artefacts merchandise available on the night too, from CDs to vinyl to the uber cool SA T Shirts. All the remaining info, can be found on the Resident Advisor Event Page.

Stroboscopic Artefacts related news can be found on their Facebook Fan Page and you can follow them on Twitter

EarToGround pres James Ruskin @ East Village (17th Dec 10)

It's about that time of year again when everything turns into a cheesy Xmas party. EarToGround are doing things slightly differently. Well i say slightly, more like massively. Instead of Jingle Bells, White Christmas, Santa Baby and Little Drummer Boy on constant repeat, they'll be providing a straight up techno soundtrack to help celebrate the birth of the baby jesus.

James Ruskin will be well known to underground techno fans as he's one of the UKs biggest talents. Chris Finke also is another rising star making a solid name for himself around the country and further a field. The rest of the line up consists of Slash Dot Dash resident, Chris Stanford and ETG frontman Gareth Wild.

Tickets are on sale through Resident Advisor until 5pm tonight otherwise it'll be more on the door. Make sure you wrap up warm and brave the cold outdoors because it's going to get hot in the East Village Basement tonight!
