Machine @ Corsica Studios (30th Mar 12)

Machine seem to of settled in a new home. After a spell on the road, taking in the Islington Metal Works and East Village, venue difficulties last year steered them towards Corsica Studios and a collaboration with Plex & Colony in October. December saw their first solo event at the Elephant and Castle venue as they hosted Kevin Saunderson and Rolando.

Friday is their first party of the year and Ben Sims and Kirk Degiorgio continue their quest to feature nothing but brand new music to make sure the party stays right on the cutting edge of forward thinking techno. Looking back to look forward, they're bringing in one of the true techno originators, Robert Hood. As one of the founder members of Underground Resistance and the boss of M-Plant Records, few have had as much influence on the techno we hear today as Hood.

Room 2 sees Retro-vert counter balance the future, with the past. Surface Records boss, Nick Dunton, heads it up and is joined by Sims and Paul Mac's moniker, Essex Rascals, and Kirk Degiorgio throws an alternative set into the mix.

Tickets are available on Resident Advisor. More information on Machine can be found on their Website. To find out what else Robert Hood is got in the pipeline, check out his Facebook Fan Page

The good times keep coming at Berghain (not that we expect anything less). Berghain sees a collection of some of todays most innovative artists supplying the soundtrack to your Saturday night / Sunday morning. This line up really lept of the page at us, so much so that we almost booked up some flights.

We recently brought you LADA's video interpretation of their 'Lostbanhof' release, now here comes the live show. Luke Slater and Shifted join them with the show is completed with the usual spattering of Berghain residents, this weekend in the form of DJ Pete and Fiedel.

Copenhagen

Most weeks when putting these roundups together, we look to the Danish capital for the next edition of the Culture Box legacy and we're rarely let down. Prologue Records' Abdulla Rashim headlines, with support from a Korridor artist showcase.

Check Resident Advisor for the rest of the info

London

After recent hectic weeks rammed full of world class techno, London's has quietened down for the weekend, but you can always rely on their being something special on the horizon. This weekend's party is care of Thunder and features one of our favourite producers, Sven Weisemann.

Advanced tickets have sold out but there will be tickets available on the door, however they are limited as the venue is on the intimate side. But that should make for a great night. Full info on Resident Advisor

Leipzig
Echolot Electronic Series Chemnitz @ Weltecho (24th March 12)

Electronic Music by:
Moritz Von Oswald (Honest Jons)
C-Beams feat. Tina (Uncanny Valley)
radio121soundsystem feat K-fog und Felde (Chemnitz)

Visuals by:
Autolum (Chemnitz)

We finish back in Germany with another of our favourite producers. Moritz Von Oswald, of Basic Channel / Rhythm & Sound fame (along with Mark Ernestus), has pretty much influenced the majority of techno you hear today. It would be a very different place had that infamous mastering studio not been set up in the heart of Berlin.

He'll be bringing his dub techno sound to the city of Leipzig as part of the Echolot Electronic Series

There's no tickets so turn up and pay on the door. Full info on Resident Advisor

Resoe - Untold Secrets EP [Curle 038]

It's the first release of 2012 from Curle Recordings. Two tracks of beautiful dubness from the Danish, Resoe. After a silent winter, release wise, he's swinging back into action as spring approaches. Pattern Repeat 05 hit the shops a few weeks ago and the 'Untold Secrets' EP will be in all good record shops by the end of the month. Check out the samples below....

Weekend Clubbing Roundup: Madrid, Geneva, New York, Berlin

The weekend has arrived and we've selected four events from around the world that we very much wish we was going to.

Madrid
I could list everyone who's playing at the 3 day festival in Madrid, but we'd be here all day. So instead we'll let the flyer do the talking. More information can be found on the Klubbers Day Website

Geneva - Friday

Zoo keeps the great techno coming. UK legend, Surgeon, joins 19.454.18.5.25.5.18 for a night of tough, industrial and probably quite experimental techno.

More info on Resident Advisor

New York - Saturday
Two of our favourite Americans, DVS1 and Silent Servant, join forces for an audio assault on National Underground in New York. The times say 11pm till ?, and knowing DVS1 as we do (especially his epic closing sets at Bergain) this could turn out to be a seriously long one!

Berlin - Saturday

Klubnacht - Innervisions Überall @ Berghain (17th March 12)

Berghain - Klubnacht
Laurent Garnier pres LBS feat Scan X & Benjamin Rippert (Live) (F-Com)
Dixon & Ame (Techno Set) (Innervisions)

Panoramabar
Ame (DJ set + Live) (Innervisions)
Agoria (Innervisions)
Domenic Capello (Seventh Sign)
Redshape (Live) (Delsin)

Sonntags
Dixon
Lil Tony
Nick Höppner
Laurent Garnier (DJ set)

Our last stop is Berghain for the Innervisions night. It's a really interesting collection of artists spread across the two legendary rooms, but then whatever time you're there over the course of Sunday and whoever you happen to see, you rarely leave dissappointed.

Samuli Kemppi - Archives [Free Downloads]

Helsinki based DJ, producer, radio host and all round general nice guy, Samuli Kemppi, has further enhanced his reputation as an all round general nice guy, by giving away some free music.

Archives comprises of a number 0f old unreleased tracks that have been collecting dust on Samuli's hard drive, so what better to do with them, than expose them to the general public? Having already made a name for himself with releases on M_Rec, Mote Evolver, Ostgut Ton, Perc Trax, Prologue, Time To Express and a few more, there's good reason why we rate the man so highly. His performance for us at Slash Dot Dash is still one of the best live sets I've had the pleasure of seeing.

The tracks can be downloaded from the soundcloud player below

By the looks of things there's more free tracks to come so keep looking. Following Samuli on Soundcloud will be your best bet. For everything else you can like his Facebook Fan Page or follow him on Twitter.

If you want to see him perform you can catch him next Friday (23rd March) alongside Delta Funktionen as Deep Space Helsinki take over Kuules Linja for the night. Full event info available on Resident Advisor

Video: Lada - Lostbanhof

It's been a while in the making but finally the Lada 'Lostbanhof' official video is with us. Lada is the production alias of Dasha Rush and Lars Hemmerling. The EP was released in September last year on Fullpanda Records.

The video was shot in a disused train station building in Berlin and features some familiar faces to SDD blog readers. You'll spot Milton Bradley and Henning Baer in there alongside Dasha and Lars. It makes a perfect accompaniment to the release. Both are trippy and slightly unnerving yet the warmth of the music, and some of the less sinister characters, make you feel safe and comforted.

Harping back to the times of silent movies and classic horror, follow Alice as she takes you into an alternative reality. She meets different characters, along the way, who display the varying sides of human nature. Locked in an internal battle, her head telling her to leave this wicked place and return to the light, while her heart and imagination is compelled to stay by the mystery of the magic place.

'Lostbanhof' is still available in most good record stores. If you've not got it already I'm sure it'll be high in your list of priorities after watching the video. For more info on Lada you can check out their Facebook Fan Page and while you're at it, check out the Fullpanda Records Website too

Slash Dot Dash Podcast 011: Henning Baer

Henning Baer is a man on a mission. He’s been slowly building his name in Berlin and abroad. As one half of the team behind the Grounded Theory Berlin project, now up to their 14th party, they’ve hosted names such as Marcel Dettmann, Ben Klock, Function, Redshape, Traversable Wormhole, Perc, Pattern Repeat, Terence Fixmer and many more SDD favourites.

Grounded Theory, not content with being just a party, is also a booking agency and soon to be label. Looking after Milton Bradley, Subjected & Moerbeck (Vault Series), Fanon Flowers, Sawlin and SDD Podcast contributor Sawf, it’s easy to see that Henning is building an ever-expanding stable of young techno talent, which will shape the face of techno for years to come.

As a DJ, he’s a regular around his hometown of Berlin. On top of his Grounded Theory parties he can be found plying his trade at the legendary Tresor and Suicide Circus as well as an increasing number of appearances around Europe. His no compromise underground techno has been destroying dancefloors at every turn.

It was only a matter of time before Henning took the next logical step into production. Setting up the K209 label with Milton Bradley and dropping the first release in March last year, he followed it up with his first solo release on the label in September. He’s since had tracks snapped up by Adam X’s Sonic Groove label to be released later on this year.

After the Tea And Techno blog named Henning in their ‘Ones To Watch For 2012’ list, all the signs are pointing to a very bright future for him, and we’re extremely excited to be giving him his UK Debut at the first of our Sunday parties.

Ahead of our first Sunday party, we asked Henning to put a mix together for our podcast, to give you a taster of just what to expect from Techno Sundays at Basing House. You can get the mix either by subscribing to the series in iTunes or you can download or stream the mix from the soundcloud player below

If you're in London this weekend you can catch Henning performing at our first Sunday event at Basing House this weekend (11th March). Weekend Clubbing Roundup: London, Berlin, Manchester, New York & Copenhagen

For those of you in London last weekend, you still might be trying to come to terms with what happened. Those of you, like us, who made it to the Blueprint Records party or the CLR party (or even the CLR afterparty) will know just how vibrant the techno scene here is becoming. Which is why we kick off our roundup in our capital city....

Finally, after a few months of planning, the weekend of our first monthly Sunday party @ Basing House is here. We'll be showing London that just because the weekend's almost over, we don't want any let up when it comes to the ferocity of our music. London's techno clubbers have had a serious lack of options when it comes to heading out on the supposed 'day of rest'.

Headed up by Grounded Theory boss and K209 artist, Henning Baer. He'll be joined by London's own Truss (Perc Trax / Stroboscopic Artefacts), XI and EarToGround resident and Candelight bloggist, Billy Allen.

Tickets are still available on Resident Advisor, and you can find all the info you'll need there too.

With all the techno action going on around London last weekend, fabric decided to give Room 2 a week off from the relentless Saturday night techno that it's seen so far this year. So this weekend it's back to normal service with two UK acts at very different stages of their career, Surgeon and Shifted.

Full event info and tickets can be found on Resident Advisor

Next up we head over to Berlin, and more importantly, tonight at Suicide Circus as they present Echocord Records headman, Kenneth Christiansen and Vault Series artist, Morbeck.

Doors open at midnight and entrance is 10 euros. Full info on Resident Advisor

Back to England now and we make our way up North to Manchester for the Eastern Bloc Records Frozen Border / Horizontal Ground label showcase at The Soup Kitchen Basement. DJ Skirt, AnD and Szare join local artist, Setaoc Mass, for a night with two of our favourite labels.

Full info on Resident Advisor

Events in New York seem to be popping up on our radar more and more and our next pick is a very special one indeed. Hotflush Recordings boss, Scuba, takes his Sub:stance party on the road with help from Luke Slater, under his L.B. Dub Corp alias, Boddika and more.

Tickets and full event info can be found on Resident Advisor

The final stop on our whistle stop tour of the weekends clubbing is Culture Box in the Danish capital city Copenhagen. As ever, it's a hugely promising line up including Echocord artists, Deadbeat and Resoe, and Chilean DJ / Producer, Dandy Jack.

More info can be found on Resident Advisor

That concludes our roundup. Whatever you do this weekend, we hope you have a great one and we'll see you all on the other side

Video: Regis (Live) @ We Fear Silence pres. Blueprint Records (3rd Mar 12)

After seeing him perform at previous Blueprint Records nights as part of Sandwell District and O/V/R, a Regis solo set has been long overdue. Last Saturday the time eventually came. A packed out Cable, already warmed up nicely by Mark Broom and James Ruskin, waited in anticipation. As the final moments of Plaid's 'Morning Blues' remix pulsated around the club, you got the feeling something special was about to happen.

What followed was an hour of Regis at his very best. A mixture of new material and vintage Downwards classics that have sculpted modern day techno and influenced so many of the artists we know and love today. For those of you who didn't make it down, we caught a small video of the proceedings. Check it out below.

It doesn't quite make up for missing the night but what can I say? Just make sure you're there for the next one in May. We've heard the line up for this and all we'll say is, it's very special. But then every line up that Blueprint Records and We Fear Silence put together seems to be of the highest quality. Which is why we're so happy to have it as part of our London scene.

More info on We Fear Silence can be found on their Website and as for Blueprint, head over to their Facebook Fan Page
