Ostgut Ton vs 50 Weapons @ Peckham Palais (28th Mar 13)

Ostgut Ton once again join up with Broken And Uneven, as they return to London for the first time since that epic sweaty night in Wapping last August and this time they're bringing 50 Weapons with them. It's a start studded affair wherever you look. The Ostgut Ton room features Marcel Fengler (who was one of the real unsung heros of the last party), Barker & Baumecker (Live), new Ostgut signing Function and special guest, Detroit Techno pioneer, Robert Hood.

The 50 Weapons room makes the whole night a difficult prospect. There's going to be some tough choices to make. Live sets from Shed and Benjamin Damage with be perfectly complimented by a DJ set from Addison Groove. If you've not caught a live set from Shed before, we highly recommend taking time away from the Ostgut room to experience one of our favourite musicians doing his thing.

Tickets are available from Resident Advisor.

On top of this when 6am rolls around and you don't want to go home yet (as is quite often the case) everyone will be upping sticks and relocating to the infamous East German fishing boat, the MS Stubnitz, for the after party. Marcel Fengler will continue where he left off from the previous party as he is joined by Dark Sky and Dolan Bergin.

After party tickets are also available from Resident Advisor

August Bank Holiday: Ostgut Ton, Blueprint Records with Jeff Mills & Chris Liebing @ WetYourSelf!

Over the years the August bank holiday has steadily become one of the most eagerly awaiting weekend of the entire year. With the whole of London being taken over by festivals, daytime parties and line ups full with the cream of the worlds best DJ talent, the people travel from far and wide to be part of this summer celebration and with it being the last bank holiday Monday till Christmas, everyone seems to party twice as hard to make the most of the extended break.

The summer is not normally over flowing with quality techno events, but as the word of the underground is spreading, more and more techno parties are popping up on the London calender, and the Bank Holiday weekend has never seen an ensemble of techno talent like is on offer in a few weeks time.

The Friday night sees Broken & Uneven join forces with Ostgut Ton for their second label showcase of 2012. Room 1 is all about Berghain, with residents Marcel Dettmann and Marcel Fengler joined by special guest Surgeon. Room 2 goes to the guys from Panorama Bar in the shape of Prosumer and Nick Höppner.

Look out for some special live art going on during the night too as street artist Pure Evil will be working on a mural during the course of the night.

The venue so far is being kept a closely guarded secret, but knowing Broken & Uneven, we expect to turn out pretty special. Full event info and tickets are available on Resident Advisor.

Saturday we head South of the river to our favourite London Bridge club, Cable, for one of London's very best parties, We Fear Silence pres Blueprint Records. After already featuring some of the worlds best techno artists, including Marcel Dettmann b2b Ben Klock, Sandwell District, Luke Slater, Peter Van Hoesen and DVS1, to name a few. We was left wondering what he could possibly do to top the previous parties and raise the bar even higher.

The answer turned out to be quite a simple one. Jeff Mills. The Detroit Techno pioneer, part of the infamous Underground Resistance collective, owner of Axis Records and self confessed sci-fi fanatic has influenced every techno artist or DJ operating today in someway or another. We expect to leave very inspired.

Tickets available on Resident Advisor

So Bank Holiday Sunday would be complete without a Room 2 Techno session with WetYourself! at fabric. Headlined by a live set from returning guest, Chris Liebing with support from Sian and Candela Rising label boss, Billy Allen.

Outside of Room 2 you'll find our first ever headliner, Marc Houle, performing live in Room 1 with Chloe and the WYS! residents and Lost Souls up in Room 3.

Tickets available through the fabric website

LWE & Closer pres Electric Deluxe @ Electric Brixton (28th Apr 12)

When London Warehouse Events say they're putting on a techno event, it usually means it's going to be one of the biggest parties the capital has to offer, and unsurprisingly, they've gone and it again. After bringing you a number of Drumcode parties and a couple of CLR events, they look to another techno super brand, Speedy J's Electric Deluxe.

The event is the second stage of three event mini euro tour, all taking place this weekend. Tonight they begin in Lausanne, Switzerland, as Speedy J is joined by Phil Kieran and Thierry Collado, and on Sunday they finish in Amsterdam with Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Hans Bouffmyhre and Giorgio Gigli.

But the one we're focusing on now is Saturday's London event. Heading down south to the newly refurbished Electric Brixton will be an army of techno fans expecting the witness some of the best techno around. Speedy J will be joined by Marcel Dettmann, Sandwell District and Marcel Fengler, whilst Room 2 is hosted by our friends at EarToGround, with Tom Dicicco leading the charge.

There's a couple of options available to you when it comes to your entry free. There's still some discount tickets left from EarToGround priced at £18 (+ bf) which you can grab from Resident Advisor. Or you can e-mail your names to jadedsundays@hotmail.com to get on their £10 concessions list. However entry is not guaranteed with guestlist, only with the tickets. It's your call but I expect there's going to be a big old queue!

More info on the Electric Deluxe mini tour can be found on their website where you can find out about everything else EDX related. There's details of their releases, podcast series, upcoming events and plenty more.

Rivet - Metrist [Kontra Musik 023]

2011 was a very good year for Kontra Musik. Jonsson / Alter's album 'Mod' was one of our favourite albums of the year. As was Mokira's 'Time Axis Manipulation project. Add to that singles from Marcel Dettmann, Kondens and remixes from Redshape, Silent Servant, Echospace, Substance and Move D and you can see why we've rated the Swedish label as one of our best from 2011.

2012 kicks off in the same vein with the first release on the label for Rivet. Gaining critical acclaim for his remix of Kowton he was quickly snapped up by Kontra Musik and put to work. The results are three excellent dancefloor centered tracks, two originals and a remix from Ostgut's Marcel Fengler . 'Metrist' is a chunky groove that combines techno with old school disco vibes over a warbling, distorted bassline. Fengler's interpretation of 'Metrist' makes for one of those late night moments. Synth notes delicately drift over the top of solid 4/4s. Rivet wraps things up with 'Sleepwalker'. Broken beats and ghostly vocals stir up emotions of bliss. Check out the samples below.

The EP will be in the shops at the end of this month. For more info on Kontra Musik, their releases and artists you can check out their Website, Facebook Fan Page or you can follow them on Twitter

Bank Holiday Weekend Recommendations: Ostgut Ton @ Cable, WetYourSelf @ fabric

This weekend is the last Bank Holiday until Boxing Day and it'll probably turn out to be one of the busiest clubbing days of the year. Every venue across London will be trying to pull out all the stops to draw in the crowds, but there's only two events that have caught our attention.

I struggled to pick a favourite out of Ostgut Ton @ Cable and WetYourSelf @ fabric so we've simply started off with Ostgut because it's first. On Friday to be exact. After successful showcases at Corsica Studios and The Red Gallery they've now switched to one of our favourite London venues, Cable. Not only that, but for the first time they're bringing over our favourite Ostgut DJ, Marcel Dettmann. Joining him will be Marcel Fengler, Efdemin, Steffi and Ame.

Tickets are still available on Resident Advisor and you'll find all the rest of the details there too.

Finally, no Bank Holiday Sunday would be complete without a WetYourSelf special. We have very fond memories of the last one in May when Slash Dot Dash front man, XI, made his first appearance at fabric b2b with Chris Stanford and a selection of the Worlds very best techno artists in Room 2. And this commitment to great techno continues into August. Headlining Room 2 this time is possibly the current biggest name in techno, Chris Liebing. He'll be joined by another SDD favourite, Terence Fixmer, Kai Zen boss and upcoming London producer, Roberto and our good friend from the Candlelight Sessions, Billy Allen.

Also don't forget to head up to Room 3 at some point to check out Andy Bone. Those of you who came down to Public Life last month for our last party will remember what a great job he did on warm up duties and we expect the same on Sunday.

As always tickets are still available on Resident Advisor and there's plenty more info to be found

Set in the perfect surroundings of Arena Club, this party is guaranteed to be something special.

Kicking off at Midnight, entrance is a highly reasonable 10 euros. All the other info can be found on the Resident Advisor Event Page. If you're in Berlin tonight make sure this is where you're at.

'Unrhythm' features another techno heavyweight in Ostgut Ton's Marcel Fengler with his remix of 'Unrhythm' on the A side with Perc Trax favourite Go Hiyama remixing 'Sfika' on the B

We're big fans of Sawf here at Slash Dot Dash. XI featured the Marcel Fengler remix on his latest Slash Dot Dash Podcast. We expect big things to come from the man from Greece.

The EP is available now in Hardwax and we expect it to hit all the rest very shortly.

Mix Of The Day: Marcel Fengler - CLR Podcast 104

I left the house this morning with a choice of 3 mixes to accompany me on the drive to work. It was either DJ Pete's new Wax Treatment Podcast, The Resident Advisor Podcast from Pinch, but in the end I settled on Marcel Fenglers' new CLR Podcast. And I certainly wasn't disappointed.

The Berghain resident serves up a feast of that signature Berlin techno sound with tracks from Milton Bradley under his 'The End Of All Existence' project, Norman Nodge, Robert Hood, OVR and his own forth coming release on Ostgut Ton, Shiraz.

You can download the mix from either Uploadstore or Fileserve or search for 'CLR Podcast' in the iTunes store.

Marcel Fengler - Thwack [Mote Evolver]

Here's the new release from the excellent Marcel Fengler. I basically want his life. Resident @ Berghain, works at Hardwax, DJs around the world and makes beautiful techno (and occasional house). This time he's took a step away from releasing on his usual label, Ostgut Ton, and instead has crafted some beats for one of London's best Techno Label's, Mote Evolver.

Check out the samples here
