Record Store Day (16th April 2011)

Reports on the news this morning told me vinyl sales were on the up by over 10% and there's been a rise in independent music shops throughout the UK. So I can't think of a better time to have Record Store Day 2011!

My two favourite London shops, Phonica Records and BM Soho are pulling out all the stops. Phonica are open from 9am and have in store performances from Guti, Mudd, Rocketnumbernine, Ghostpoet and Woodcraft Folk. Full details

Whilst BM Soho have a chocker schedule. Tonight (Friday) they have a 2 hour set from Onsulade and tomorrow they have performances from Atjazz, Restless Soul, Sigha, Icicle, Karizma and Cooly G.

More details of all the stores taking place can be found on the Record Store Day Website. Make sure you get involved and support your local stores, the artists you love and the labels that push the boundaries in forward thinking music. They do a lot for you and they can't do it without you so do your bit to help out. It only happens once a year!
