fabric New Years Double Header - NYE & WetYourSelf! NYD
2012 has been a good year for techno at fabric. We've been lucky enough to witness the likes of Sandwell District, Ben Klock, Marcel Dettmann, Peter Van Hoesen, Shed, DVS1, Shackleton, Luke Slater, Skudge, Karenn, Sigha and plenty more take to the infamous Room 2 over the last 12 months and they weren't about to let the year end without a bang!
The line up pretty much speaks for itself. Dave Clarke, Robert Hood presents Floorplan, Terry Francis and Joseph Capriati. Job done.
Tickets are available from the fabric website, doors open at 9pm and close at 9am (apparently)
Now if one night at fabric isn't enough for you, WetYourSelf! are giving you a cracking reason to turn round and head straight back there as Echocord Records boss, Kenneth Christiansen, returns to perform in London for the first time since he played for us in the summer of last year at Public Life. He'll be bringing his box chopped full of the most stunning dub techno, which has led him to become one of the most respected figures in the industry.
Joining him will be Palisade, with a live set, Antony Difrancesco b2b Dan Farserelli and the EarToGround guys, Chris Stanford and Gareth Wild.
Again, tickets are available from the fabric website

MDR @ fabric (15th Dec 12)
There's more Berghain / Panoramabar influence to be found around the club too as the Ostgut label head, Nick Höppner heads up Room 3.
Tickets are available from the fabric website, I'd suggest buying one because this really isn't the time of year to be queuing outside all night! Between now and then, there's plenty of stuff to keep you occupied on the fabric blog, like Create Digging with Answer Code Request and a conversation with Nick Höppner when he talks about his fabric promo mix.

We Fear Silence pres Blueprint Records @ Cable (17th Nov 12)
It's always an exciting time when We Fear Silence invite Blueprint Records back under the arches at Cable. Consistently setting the bar for the highest quality techno with every installment, we last saw them in the middle of an August Bank Holiday marathon as Jeff Mills delighted our senses with 4 hours of pure techno legendary.
Sticking with the Detroit heavyweight / Underground Resistance theme, Blueprint turn to another pioneer, Robert Hood. The flyer says he'll be performing live but, you'll be pleased to know, the M-Plant Records boss will also be performing a DJ set on top.
Mr Hood will be ably supported by the combination of James Ruskin and Mark Broom, both individually, and as their production duo alias, The Fear Ratio. Room 2 will be perfectly marshaled, as ever, by Colony. Residents MB & CB and Tengui and joined by the man behind the label Broken20, TVO (check out the top 10 tracks he picked out for WFS silence on their website).
Advanced tickets are available on Resident Advisor, or you can pay on the door, but I wouldn't get there too late if that's your preferred option because we expect it's going to be a busy one!

P/C/M: London, Grounded Theory: Berlin & The Sound Of Berghain: Copenhagen
After our mammoth roundup post last week, we're keeping it shorter this week, but the three parties we have to tell you about, make it just as strong.
Our favourite Berlin promoters, Grounded Theory, move to a new venue, Stattbad, for their 18th party and they've put together an epic UK trio in the shape of Surgeon, Tommy Four Seven and Sigha. The Berlin contingent is fulfilled by Sven VT and GT boss, Henning Baer.
As is the Berlin norm, there are no tickets, so make sure you get there early to avoid disappointment. Full info can be found on the Facebook Event Page.
No clubbing roundup would be complete without a stop of at Copenhagen's Culture Box. On Saturday they continue their monthly homage to the sounds of Berghain and Panoramabar and this week it's the turn of Ben Klock to take control of the Black Box for an all night session.
Full info can be found on the Facebook Event Page
London
When London party throwers, Plex, Colony and Machine put on events on their own, they always turn out pretty special, but when they combine at Corsica Studios, it ends up being one of the best events on the clubbing calendar.
The first P/C/M, which took place in October last year, brought together the likes of Surgeon, Perc, Andy Stott, Adam X, Ancient Methods, TVO, Peverelist and plenty more.
As with last year there's a few birthdays to be celebrated. Plex are turning six and Colony are reaching four. Plex take care of room one. Ancient Methods return, Regis puts in a live set, and the two combine for the UK debut performance of Ugandan Methods. Joining them is Surface Records' 65D Mavericks, Ø [Phase], Simon Heartfield with a live A/V show and the Plex residents.
Colony host live sets from Livity Sound, Senking and DJ sets from Millie, Tengui and MB & CB. Machine feature Untold, A Made Up Sound, Ben Sims and Paul Mac as Fokus Group and Kirk Degiorgio.
There's a few tickets left on Resident Advisor, but don't hang about because they won't be available for long.

Berghain 06: Norman Nodge
The latest Berghain compilation CD hit the stores yesterday, and it's mixed by our favourite techno lawyer, Norman Nodge. Now on to it's sixth edition, after previous escapades from Andre Galluzi, Marcel Dettmann, Len Faki, Ben Klock and Marcel Fengler, the Berlin nightspot continues to dip into their extensive list of residents to showcase the music that's built the club's legendary reputation for the worlds very best techno.
As you may expect, Nodge's signature stamp of quality is plastered all over the mix from start to finish. From it's ambient beginnings, with the help of Birds Two Cage, Oni Ayhun and an artist we're big fans of here at SDD, Mokira, the mix steadily builds in energy, drifting it's way through the expansive sounds of Detroit, Berlin and UK techno. Combining classic tracks like Jeff Mills' 'Keeping Of The Kept' with new faces to the scene like Patrick Gräser and recent SDD podcaster, Charlton. The mix, recorded live at Berghain, completes a full circle as tracks from El Gato#9, Radioactive Man and Xosar return the listener to the comp's more blissful beginnings.
Tracklisting
1) Birds Two Cage - Gase
2) Oni Ayhun - OAR002-B
3) Mokira - Manupulation Music (Redshape Tape Dub)

17) El Gato#9 - Coefficient Of Friction (Monty Luke Back Catalogue Remix)
18) Radioactive Man - Nasty Radio
19) Xosar - Rainy Day Juno Jam (Legowelt Remix)
As with all Berghain, and Panoramabar CDs, this mix contains a number of exclusive unreleased tracks. In the case of 06 it's three, from Birds Two Cage, Patrick Gräser and Mark Broom. Thankfully for those of you DJs out there, these three tracks don't stay unreleased for very long as they all feature on the companion vinyl. Samples of which can be found on the soundcloud player below
Mark Broom | Birds Two Cage | Patrick Gräser | Berghain 06 | o-ton 59 by Ostgut Ton

Slash Dot Dash Podcast 015: Charlton
Charlton was born in 1982 in Rotterdam (Netherlands). At the age of 17 he began chasing the early rave parties which were happening all over Holland and around 1999 his love for electronic music turned into an obsession and he started DJing.
It was around this time that Charlton first came face to face with techno. He started producing abd building up his unique sound in 2001. Boosted by the Electronic Music Productions study he took at one of Holland’s best known music production colleges, he started putting his work together for his first live PA, which debuted in 2004.
Charlton’s inventive style of producing tracks back then combined techno from “the old days” with his own dark off-beat rhythms. Adding nasty razor-sharp and hypnotizing acid basslines to this creating a truly unique, ‘Charlton’ sound which had a great impact on Dutch techno scene. He was soon playing all over the place with with gigs and residencies across Holland and has since then played at various cutting-edge parties such as Awakenings, Heroes of Techno, Qbase, Detatched etc.
Moving to London gave Charlton New experience and a clearer point of view and as a result Charlton’s music started to change. Breaking up with his traditional dark rhythms gave him an opportunity to create his new style and helped to understand the essence of techno music.
Charlton's tracks have been released on labels such as Field Records, Audio Assault, Arms, Labrynth, Aftertaste and Pohjola. His first ever EP "Slowdown Basterd" received top when it came out in August 2010 on M_Rec. Moreover, ''Black Slong'' has been featured on Norman Nodge's Berghain 06 compilation.
You can stream and download the mix from the soundcloud player below, or subscribe to the podcast in iTunes

Stallion [Stallion 001]
We've just discovered a new label coming out of Berlin entitled Stallion. Distributed by Hardwax, it's an anonymous project of uncompromising techno. The first EP contains 4 tracks on the vinyl with an additional 2 locked grooves. Comprising of tough basslines, furious percussion, piercing stabs, industrial overtones and drifting melodies.Tthere's a dancefloor weapon for all occasions. Check out the samples below
The EP is available in all the good record stores and we expect it won't be available digitally, so wax is your only option. This might not be about for long though, juno has already sold out so don't hesitate in grabbing this one.

Again we're talking tonight, but this time we're switching to Suicide Circus, Berlin, for the Sonic Groove label night. The boss, Adam X, is accompanied by fellow SG artists Dino Sabatini and Diagenetic Origin.
As is the case with Berlin events, there's no pre sale tickets, doors open at midnight and it's first come first serve. Full event info can be found on Resident Advisor
Copenhagen
After further cementing his place as one of our absolute favourite DJs last weekend, Marcel Dettmann heads to Copenhagen for Culture Box's bi monthly collaboration with the Berlin techno mecca that is Berghain. The Ostgut Ton artist will be in control from 11pm right through till the end.
All you need to know can be found on the Facebook Event Page
Chicago
The Smart Bar plays host to a true techno giant as Oktave and Little White Earbuds present Chris Liebing. The CLR boss gets support from Perc Trax's Jeff Derringer and Chicago local Qbot.
There's no tickets for this one so arrive early to avoid missing out. Full info on the Facebook Event Page
Taipei
Smoke Machine put together some great parties, we just wish they were a little bit closer to home. Saturday night is no exception as they welcome Prologue Records artist and one half (with Donato Dozzy) of the outstanding Voices From The Lake, Neel.
Just like the Culture Box, Neel will be on from the start, right through till the lights get turned on. For all the info on the event and links for tickets head to the Facebook Event Page
